Why is History important?

At Wickhambrook, our teaching and learning prepares and primes our children for their future. History forms an integral part of this curriculum; facilitating comprehension, enquiry and analysis. Our aim is to help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of our country and place in the wider community of the world; how we became who we are; the complexity of societies; and the relationships between different groups and identities.
